What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
The CDCP is a federal program that helps cover the cost of dental care for eligible Canadian residents who don't have access to private dental insurance. At UR Dental, we accept the CDCP so you can put ur benefits toward exams, cleanings, fillings, and more.
Who is eligible for the CDCP?
To qualify you must be a Canadian resident for tax purposes, have no access to private or employer dental insurance, have filed last year's tax return, and have an adjusted family net income below $90,000. Not sure if you qualify? Give us a call at (416) 222-0606.
Does UR Dental accept the CDCP?

How do I apply for the CDCP?
You can apply online or by phone through the Government of Canada. Once you're approved, Sun Life mails you a welcome package and member card showing ur coverage start date. We're glad to help you understand the process — just ask.
What does the CDCP cover?
The CDCP helps pay for a wide range of services, including exams, cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, root canals, and dentures. Some treatments may require pre-approval. We'll always review ur coverage and give you an estimate before any treatment begins.
How much will I pay out of pocket?
It depends on ur adjusted family net income. Families under $70,000 pay no co-payment, those between $70,000 and $79,999 cover 40%, and those between $80,000 and $89,999 cover 60% of the CDCP fees. Amounts above the plan's set fees may also apply — we'll go over ur estimate before treatment. Call us at (416) 222-0606.
Do I need to renew my CDCP coverage?
Yes. CDCP coverage renews every year. You'll need to file ur taxes and reconfirm that you still meet the eligibility requirements before the renewal deadline so ur benefits don't lapse. Need a hand? Give us a call at (416) 222-0606.
What should I bring to my first CDCP appointment?
Please bring ur Sun Life CDCP member card (or member number) and a piece of photo ID. That's all we need to verify ur coverage and get you started.
Are x-rays covered under the CDCP?
Yes — diagnostic x-rays are covered under the CDCP when they're needed for ur exam. X-rays help us give you a thorough and accurate picture of ur oral health.
Are my children covered under the CDCP?
